Romanticizing Your Everyday Life: Finding Romance in Routine

Romanticizing your life doesn’t mean pretending everything is perfect—it means learning to appreciate the beauty that already exists in your everyday routines. For me, a big part of romanticizing life comes through video creation. Platforms like TikTok and Instagram allow me to capture small moments and turn them into something meaningful. Some people might call it “aesthetic,” but behind every clip is real life—just thoughtfully curated. In many ways, creating content helps me slow down and appreciate the moments that might otherwise feel ordinary.

As a college student with a busy schedule, it can be easy for daily tasks to feel repetitive or rushed. But I’ve found that even simple activities, like cooking breakfast before a long day of classes, can feel special when you approach them with intention. Setting aside time to make something for myself, even on a hectic morning, reminds me that small acts of care matter. The same goes for working out, even on cold, snowy days in my college city of Spokane, WA. Moving my body becomes less about checking something off my to-do list and more about creating a moment that’s just for me.

Another way I romanticize life is through my environment. Keeping my space clean and curating my bedroom is incredibly important to me. As a college student, your room often becomes your sanctuary—a place to recharge, create, and feel at home. Cleaning and organizing might sound mundane, but when I treat it as part of caring for my space, it actually feels rewarding.

School is another area where I try to find beauty in the routine. I love creating aesthetic study sessions, organizing my supplies, and viewing my work as part of the creative process. Even assignments can feel more inspiring when you approach them with curiosity and intention.

Fashion is another way I elevate everyday life. Personal style has always been a creative outlet for me. I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with brands like Princess Polly, Peppermayo, Victoria’s Secret & PINK, and Hollister, which has allowed me to bring my style vision to life. Getting dressed each day becomes more than just picking an outfit, it’s a chance to express who I am.

Ultimately, romanticizing life is about falling in love with discipline and the routines that shape your days. The small habits you repeat daily can become meaningful when you treat them with care.

Easy Ways to Romanticize Your Routine:

  • Document small moments through photos or short videos
  • Make everyday tasks intentional (like cooking or cleaning)
  • Create a space that feels personal and inspiring
  • Turn study sessions into a creative ritual
  • Use fashion as a form of self-expression
