About Me
Ashlinn Aguayo
Personal Introduction
I am a student-athlete, digital creator, and aspiring journalist dedicated to telling authentic, impactful stories across platforms. My passion for journalism comes from a deep curiosity about people, communities, and the moments that shape how we understand the world. I am especially interested in storytelling that is both engaging and meaningful work that informs audiences while amplifying voices that are often overlooked.
Academic Background
I am currently completing my undergraduate degree at Gonzaga University, where I will graduate in Spring 2026 with a 3.80 GPA and honors. My academic experience has strengthened my skills in research, writing, communication, and critical thinking, all of which form the foundation of my journalism practice.
I have been admitted to New York University’s Master’s in Journalism program and will begin my academic journey in Fall 2026. At NYU, I will further develop my reporting, writing, and multimedia storytelling skills while preparing for a career in modern journalism and digital media.
Personal Brand & Digital Presence
Alongside my academic and professional work, I have built a personal brand as a digital creator on TikTok, where I have grown a community of over 14,000 followers. My content focuses on athletics, college life, and personal growth, blending storytelling and creativity to connect with a broad and engaged audience across platforms.
What Drives My Storytelling
I am driven by a desire to tell stories that matter—stories that inform, connect, and inspire. I believe journalism has the power to shape perspective and create understanding, and I am committed to using my voice and platform to highlight experiences that are often underrepresented. My goal is to continue growing as a storyteller who brings clarity, authenticity, and purpose to every piece of work I create.
I currently serve as a Digital Marketing Assistant for the Office of Inclusive Excellence at Gonzaga University, where I support digital content and marketing initiatives. I am also a student-athlete graduating in Spring 2026 with a 3.80 GPA and honors, and a content creator on TikTok with over 14,000 followers. Previously, I interned with The Women’s Network on national marketing efforts and served as President of the Gonzaga chapter, leading operations and member engagement. I have been admitted to New York University’s Master’s in Journalism program and will join the competitive Fall 2026 cohort.
